Central University of Kerala senior students don teachers' cap
KASARGOD: As the authorities suspended classes indefinitely and teachers refused to teach, the students themselves turned teachers on the third day of the ‘Student Refugee Movement’ protest at Central University of Kerala (CUK) in Kasargod. The students in many groups attended classes by the senior students and PhD scholars on different topics. The students moved their protest from the libraries to the public spaces including auditoriums on the main campus at Periye and are staying there in the night.
Students are on protest from Tuesday in the university demanding adequate hostel facilities and occupying the campus buildings. The protest is now concentrated on the main campus in Periye. “We have now introduced a new slogan for the protest: When accommodation is denied, occupation is a protest and when education is denied, learning is a protest,” said students’ representative Visakh Viswambaran. On Thursday, classes on scientific methods and pseudo science were taken.
