TS has largest female workforce in India: Mahmood Ali

HYDERABAD: State home minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali on Wednesday inaugurated a new Women Police Station (WPS) at Uppal along with labour and employment minister Chamakura Malla Reddy and Uppal MLA Bethi Subhash Reddy.

Speaking during the event, Mahmood Ali said that this was one of the many women police stations they would establish to bolster female safety in the state.

The home minister claimed that Telangana state had the largest female workforce in India adding that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, was the first to enforce a 33 per cent reservation for women. Praising the police, the minister stated that Telangana state had one of the best police departments in the country and reported that 64 per cent of the CCTV cameras in the nation are present in Hyderabad.

He credited the efforts of DGP Anjani Kumar, Rachakonda commissioner of police D.S. Chauhan and the entire police force for the police department’s success. He added that the police were now a friendly and approachable face, unlike in the past, putting Hyderabad’s police force on par with Dubai’s.

Rachakonda commissioner of police D.S. Chauhan, deputy mayor of Hyderabad Mothe Srilatha Shoban Reddy, Malkajgiri DCP D. Janaki and ACP Naresh Reddy were also present on the occasion.
