THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Cabinet on Wednesday decided to constitute a special company for smooth disbursement of social security pensions.The government will provide the required fund for the proposed company. At the moment the administration and disbursement of different social security pensions is through the respective welfare fund boards.
One of the main objectives of constituting the company is to ensure that livelihood assistance pensions are disbursed in a time-bound manner every month.Different kinds of control had led to uncertainty and delay in disbursement of pensions. The government will own 100 per cent shares in the proposed company. Finance minister will be the chairman of director board and finance secretary managing director.
Road connectivity
Cabinet has entrusted Kerala Road Fund Board for the Kannur international airport road connectivity package.This is for Kuttiyadi-Nadapuram-Peringathoor , Mekunnu-Panoor-Pukoode-Koothuparamba-Mattanur road (53 km) and Mananthavadi -Boys Town- Peravoor-Shivapuram-Mattanur road (63.5 km).
