Maha Kumbhabhishekam at Srisailam postponed

VIJAYAWADA: AP endowments commissioner S. Satyanarayana said the Maha Kumbhabhishekam programme scheduled from May 25 to 31 at Srisaila Mahakshetra (Srisailam) has been postponed. He said the Ashtottara Satha Kundamitha Sri Chandi Rudra Rajashyamala Sudarshan Sahitya Sri Lakshmi Mahayagna, organized under the auspices of the AP endowments department from May 12 to 17 was successfully conducted.

However, he said, devotees, especially old people and children could not participate in view of the searing heatwave conditions prevailing across the state.

Satyanarayana stated that in view of this experience and heatwaves, the Maha Kumbhabhishekam programme to be held from May 25 at Srisailam temple has been decided to be held in the holy month of Kartikam after consultation with the scholars and pundits and suggestions of Vedic scholars.

Endowments commissioner Satyanarayana appealed to the devotees to take note of this change and more devotees should take part in the Mahakumbhabhishekam held at the famous Srisailam temple in the month of Kartika. He added that the date will be announced soon after a decision is taken by the Vedic astrologers.
