New Delhi: The water level in 91 major reservoirs across the country has dipped to 18 per cent of their total capacity, the government said on Friday.
According to Union Water Resources Ministry, 28.175 billion cubic metre of water was available in these reservoirs for the week ending on May 19. The total capacity of these reservoirs is 157.799 BCM.
The levels are 41 per cent short of the stock available during corresponding period last year and 20 per cent less than the 10-year average storage levels for the same span, the ministry said.
