Water everywhere as pipe leaks in Vanasthalipuram
Hyderabad: With the continuing heat wave across the city and elsewhere forcing every person struggle to beat the heat in one way or the other, one of the most vital source of finding solace, water, is literally going waste in Vanasthalipuram and Nampally. The Krishna river pipeline passing through Vanasthalipuram main road has been damaged with hundreds of gallons of leaking water were being thrown out on the road, causing inconvenience to the motorists. Also, the residents of Bhoiguda Kaman and Nampally were queuing up for the water tanker because they didn’t get the water from the past four days.
A resident of the area said, “We aren’t receiving water from the past four days because there was a leakage in the water pipeline at Malepally and this is the first time in the last four days the tanker has arrived. We have made several complaints to the water board officials about the issue and they said the repairs might take time and meanwhile will send the tanker. So they’ve send it today.” When contacted Mr G. Rameshwar Rao, director, operations and maintenance of HMWS&SB, said, “We aren’t sure about the pipeline leakages, but the tanker services have increased because of summer.” If there are any complaints regarding the leakages, the people can call us directly and inform us about it, we will resolve the issue at the earliest.”
