Vijayawada: A prodigal five-year-old girl, M. Hasini, studying UKG inan English medium school at Vuyyuru in Krishna district is expressing excellent memory and calculation skills, which are only possible to Class IX and X students.
She answered questions on names of capital cities of the countries asked from a list of 193. Her father, a junior assistant in the police department, said that she remembers all the names of capital cities of 193 countries. When asked about states in India, she listed out 29 states of India and their capitals.
She gave the list of all the Indian prime ministers till now in order they served the country. She told the names of 13 Presidents of India in order as well as 14 persons Prime Ministers,including Mr Narendra Modi in front of the media.
Regarding mathematics, she can perform multiplication of four digit numbers and squaring of two digit numbers using techniques of Vedic mathematics. The techniques of Vedic mathematics are being learnt from Class VIII by the students who are taking IIT foundation course in private schools.
Thus while doing multiplications, she actually doesn’t perform normal multiplication, but answers the questions by understanding the techniques from Vedic mathematics. Her school teachers said that she performed the same things before a gathering on the occasion of Children’s Day on November 14, 2015.
She performed magic square containing 25x25 = 625 squares that give equal number when all numbers in any rows and columns are added. She took 25 minutes to complete the square. Her father Uma Shanker says that they are not stressing her and only teaching these activities when she is free and though she is ready to learn even more, they are not burdening her.
After observing her, psychologist P. Ram Kumar said that she is learning with skill and mind strength of a child of around 15 years of age.
