Kerala: Devotee falls off chariot in procession, dies

ALAPPUZHA: A devotee lost his life after falling off a chariot when the procession was in progress during the annual festival at Devikulangara temple near Kayamkulam on Tuesday. According to the local police, Shabimon,40, Harimagalam, Puthupally south, Kaymkulam, died of head injuries.

He was on the top of the chariot as the Kettukazcha was proceeding towards the temple ground in the evening. His head banged against a wooden plank before he fell off the chariot and was left bleeding profusely. Though he was taken to a nearby hospital, he was declared as brought dead.
