Kerala molestation: CM Pinarayi Vijayan calls up actor, promises justice

The chief minister said the government would deal sternly with cases of atrocities against women and children.

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday spoke to the actress and assured that those behind the crime would be brought to justice. This was disclosed by the chief minister in his Facebook post. Something which should have never happened had taken place. The actors should not have any uncertainty over her future. The chief minister said the government would deal sternly with cases of atrocities against women and children. The LDF government was committed to provide protection and security to those becoming victims of such horrific crimes.

The chief minister’s assurance comes in the wake of widespread anger and anguish over the horrific incident. People from different walks of life, cine fraternity, social organisations and women organisations have demanded strict action against the culprits. This was also reflected in the reactions to the chief minister's Facebook post. Many wanted him to show the same concern when an ordinary girl is assaulted. Some suggested the case should be handed over Rishiraj Singh. There was also concern over community policing becoming weak in the state .
