Videos and messages are active on WhatsApp, asking viewers to avoid watching the movie.

Goshamahal BJP MLA Raja Singh’s video starts with the advice but ends with a warning, asking the community to burn the theatres which screen the movie.
As per the law, this can attract Section 153 of the IPC for spreading violence. But a complaint has to be filed, said the police.

In a 2.40-minute video, the MLA said, “The Rajput community has tried its maximum to stop the movie. Six states banned it. Unfortunately, the Supreme Court lifted the ban. I am no one to comment on the SC order. By changing the name of the movie from Padmaavati to Padmaavat , the director has not changed the incorrect script. I request Rajputs, Hindus and deshbakths to avoid watching the movie and cause financial loss to the producer. In case the director incurs a loss; no one will come forward to make a movie on history. We have to cause loss to Sanjay Leela Bansali. I pray that you protest, burn the theatres or strike the movie down, however, don’t allow it to be screened.” Besides, messages asking people to skip watching the movie are also making rounds.
While the South Zone DCP office said that no complaint has been lodged for circulating the video or against the BJP MLA.
