Surge In Covid-19 Cases, MGM Hospital Sets Up Special Ward

Warangal: With the detection of a new Coronavirus variant JN.1, health officials have been put on maximum alert here at Warangal’s Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Hospital. A special medical team has been constituted for overseeing arrangements at the hospital.

A special Covid-19 ward with 50 beds capacity along with 30 oxygen cylinders and 10 ventilators has been set up to admit patients suffering from Covid-19 infection. The special team was formed under the leadership of deputy superintendent of the hospital

In the past, special wards with 250 beds were functional during the surge of Covid-19 and its variant Omicron viruses. Two liquid oxygen plants were established for supplying oxygen to every bed of the hospital in the special ward. The ventilators were also set up for providing treatment to patients suffering from Covid-19 related ailments.

Following the decline in Covid-19 cases and its variant Omicron, the special ward for Coronavirus patients was converted into general ward.
