Rs 1 crore donation by TS minister Ponguleti Srinivas to Kukke Subrahmanya Temple

Mangaluru: Telangana Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy donated Rs 1 crore towards 'Annadanam' at Kukke Shree Subrahmanya Temple on Tuesday.

Temple officials told Deccan Chronicle that Minister Reddy's significant contribution was an expression of gratitude as his prayers were answered.

"He had prayed to Lord Kukke Subrahmanya for a suitable match for his daughter and his wish was fulfilled within three months. In acknowledgment of this blessing, Minister Reddy visited the temple with his family, including his daughter and son-in-law, and offered Rs 1 crore for Annadanam, fulfilling his vow," a temple official said.

The occasion coincided with the 'Avabritotsava' (Holy Bath) of Kukke Subrahmanya, celebrated as part of Subrahmanya Shasti.

The Minister and his family had darshan of the deity, met temple authorities, and presented the donation. They also had anna prasadam.

Situated in the Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka, Shree Kukke Subrahmanya Temple stands as a prominent pilgrimage site, attracting thousands of devotees daily.

Noteworthy sevas such as Sarpa Samskara, Naga Pratista, and Ashlesha Bali are performed at the temple, while the tradition of serving food to devotees as 'Anna Prasadam' continues to be a cherished practice.
