Covid Infected Person Dies in Bengaluru, says Minister

Bengaluru: A person aged about 64 years and a resident of Chamarajpet in Bengaluru City died owing to Covid-19, said Minister for Health and Family Welfare Services Dinesh Gundurao and stated that the only death from Covid-19 so far.

At a press conference here on Wednesday, Rao said that the person who died from Covid-19 was also suffering from hypertension, bronchial asthma and was also Tuberculosis infected. Besides, he was tested positive for Covid-19. He breathed his last on December 15 and he died at a private hospital in Bengaluru City.

Rao said that neighbouring Kerala has reported 5 deaths owing to Covid-19 and Maharashtra reported a death. Border areas will have more tests conducted in border districts of Chamarajanagar, Dakshina Kannada and Mysuru districts and once the test reports are available then adequate measures would be initiated in coming days.

As of now, he said, no restrictions but wanted people to wear face masks as a precautionary measure.
