Oommen Chandy to appear before Solar Judicial Commission
Kochi: The Solar Judicial Commission has decided to examine former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy for one more time. The commission issued notices asking him to appear on December 23. The notice was officially handed over to his counsel on Monday. The commission while Mr Chandy was in office had gone to the state capital for a sitting there and examined his statements. When it heard him, he had said that he met Saritha on three occasions, and whenever he found out that she was involved in cheating cases, the government took action against her.
However, Saritha produced the call records making a clinching revelation that she made more than 2,500 calls to him and his aides. Recently, his gunman Salim Raj submitted before the commission that he had spoken to her on his phone. He had claimed that there were 416 calls between them between July 2012 and May 2013. Commission meanwhile asked Saritha to appear before it on December 22. As per its list, four more witnesses are to be heard. Mr Chandy's government appointed the commission following an opposition agitation demanding his resignation over the scam.
