Hyderabad: The state government wants to impose some conditions if the RTC workers call off the strike and rejoin duty. The government wants the workers to rejoin unconditionally and submit a written declaration to the depot managers that they will not go on strike in ever again. The government will take back only those workers who accept the conditions.

If the RTC workers do not accept these conditions, the government will take a decision about what to do with them after the verdict of the labour court, where the High Court has referred the strike.

The government has already announced that the RTC strike is illegal.

Meanwhile, in response to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s previous deadlines, some RTC workers had come forward to rejoin duty. Of about, only about half actually returned to work, the rest are awaiting a call from the depot managers.

If the labour court says the RTC strike is illegal, the government will consider offering voluntary retirement to the RTC workers.
