As the news spread that Prashant hailed from the port city, police personnel rushed to Madhurawada to locate his residence.

Visakapatnam: The Vizag Special Branch and police personnel from other wings set off early on Tuesday morning to locate the family of Prashant Maidam, a local who landed up in the custody of the Pakistan police.

As the news spread that Prashant hailed from the port city, police personnel rushed to Madhurawada to locate his residence.

After four hours, the police found the residence in Mithilapuri VUDA Colony in the city and discovered that the family had shifted to Hyderabad five years ago.

“After receiving information from the higher authorities, we started a search early in the morning today for Prashant’s house. After his father spoke to the media in Hyderabad, we were relieved,” a senior Special Branch officer said.

While responding on the incident, BJP leader and MLC P.V.N. Madhav said that Union minister of state for home G. Kishan Reddy had swung into action to bring Prashant home safely.

“Kishan Reddy is discussing with officials of the foreign ministry and Prashant would bring back safely,” Mr Madhav told the media.
