KCR performs yagnas fearing defeat: BJP leader G Kishan Reddy
Hyderabad: BJP leader G. Kishan Reddy on Monday alleged that caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was performing yagams fearing defeat in the Assembly elections.
Speaking to mediapersons at the BJP headquarters in the city, Mr Kishan Reddy said, “I’m confused as to whether Mr Rao performed the yagam after witnessing the response from the public or to wish for a good response from the public. Performing the yagam has shown the level of confidence of the TRS. As people started questioning about the promises made in the previous elections, TRS leaders including the family of Mr Chandrasekhar Rao are worried.”
He said all these days, the people of Telangana were unable to question the Chief Minister as the police used to surround him. The government had denied permission to hold public meetings and had even scrapped Dharna Chowk as a protest venue.
“Now as the leaders have started meeting the people, they are not being allowed into villages before answering questions. Mr Chandrasekhar Rao himself had said that he would not ask for votes if he had not fulfilled promises. It is shameless that he has failed to stick to his words,” Mr Kishan Reddy said.
“The TRS government didn’t meet the deadline for double bedroom houses, Mission Bhagiratha etc. Now he is asking for votes again,” he said.
