Hyderabad: PIL filed on amendment of land acquisition

The contention of the petition is that the Amendment Act would nullify the main objective of AP Infrastructure Development Enabling Act.

Hyderabad: A PIL has been moved before the Hyderabad High Court with an aim to strike down the Amendment Act 2017 brought out to amend the provisions of the AP Infrastructure Development Enabling Act, 2001.

Foundation for Social Awareness, a Hyderabad-based NGO represented by Yadavili Suryanarayana Murthy moved the PIL contending that the amendments made by the state of Andhra Pradesh are violative of the Constitution of India.

The contention of the petition is that the Amendment Act would nullify the main objective of AP Infrastructure Development Enabling Act, which has been enacted for the benefit of infrastructure projects in AP for rapid development and attracting private sector participation.

The petitioner submitted that the power of Infrastructure Authority had been removed.
