No mystery behind death of Noushad Ahammad
ALAPPUZHA: Vegetable vendor Noushad Ahammad, 40, who became popular through his Facebook video against the artificial inflation of vegetable price during festive seasons, and who had died in an accident in Tamil Nadu the day before, was buried at Shahidar Juma Masjid ground, Kayamkulam on Wednesday night. Noushad had received great support from social media through his video that was viewed by 1.1 million people within three days.
“Noushad died when the car he was travelling in along with his business partner Anoop, 38, Mattancherry, Ernakulam, rammed into the back side of a truck on Thirunelveli-Madurai Highway at Kayathar of Thoothukudi district on Tuesday morning. After the accident allegations had spread in social media that there was mystery behind his death. However, we spoke to the police and it is clear that there was no mystery behind his death and that he and his friend were killed in a road accident. We don't have any complaints and the truck is now under police custody,'' said Haris Savad, cousin brother of Noushad.
Kayamkulam sub-inspetor D. Rejeesh Kumar said they have not received any complaints in connection with his death. Kayamkulam DySP N Rajesh said there is no mystery behind his death and allegations in connection with his death are baseless.
