Internal tiff haunts Muslim League: Kodiyeri Balakrishnan

The CPM leader also boasted that the by-election will bring an end to the misfortune of the people of the Vengara.

Kochi: The Indian Union Muslim League is facing the worst organisational crisis in its history as the party has been forced to field a person as the candidate for Vengara assembly by-elections as he threatened to leave the party if he was denied the opportunity, said Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, CPM state secretary on Tuesday. KNA Khader was selected as threatened to leave the party, he said.
The by-election at Vengara is expected to reflect the ongoing disputes within the IUML, he said. The tussle within the party will continue in coming days, he said, and added that IUML was forced to announce its candidate as the CPM had announced its nominee for the poll.

The CPM leader also rubbished the IUML’s claim fighting the BJP at the Centre. Kunhalikutty was chosen as the Lok Sabha candidate from Malappuram with the claim that he will lead a fight against the RSS. But he was even unable to cast his vote for the common candidate of the opposition in the presidential elections, Kodiyeri pointed. How could IUML leadership lacking such an elementary level of vigil fight against the BJP, he asked. The CPM leader also boasted that the by-election will bring an end to the misfortune of the people of the Vengara. The CPM leader also justified KPAC Lalitha, chairperson of the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy and some LDF MLA visiting actor Dileep in jail. Visiting a prisoner in jail is a personal matter. The issue need not be mixed with politics, he said.
