Cyberdome extension to Kochi, Kozhikode soon
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As part of enhancing the cyber safety of the state, the Cyberdome of the state police will be extended to Kochi and Kozhikode also. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who launched various cyber safety initiatives of the Cyberdome here on Tuesday, also stressed the need for coordination among agencies like Cyberdome and Computer Emergency Response Team-Kerala of Kerala State IT Mission to ensure cyber safety and security.
State police chief Loknath Behera said that Cyberdome, which is now at Technopark, would be replicated at Infopark in Kochi and Cyberpark in Kozhikode subject to space availability. He also said that states like Karnataka had sought the state police's help for replicating Cyberdome. ‘CI Mobi,’ an augmented reality interface, giving tips on cyber safety to students, was among the new initiatives launched on the occasion. Stickers with marker images could be distributed among children and when they are scanned using the mobile app CI Mobi, a 3-D animated interface would give tips on cyber safety.
A portal for all mobile phone service centres, both authorised and unauthorised, was also launched by the Cyberdome with the aim of tracking lost and stolen mobiles easily. 'Is your child safe', a book on cyber safety for kids written by IPS officer Sanjay Kumar Gurudin, was also released. The chief minister received the ISO certification for Cyberdome. Cyberdome nodal officer and IG Thiruvananthapuram-range, Manoj Abraham, said that the ISO certification was received for maintaining international standards.
