Python creates panic in Velugupalle

A 7-metre long python was noticed in the Siddavatam forest range

A 7-metre long python created panic in Velugupalle in Siddavatam mandal in Kadapa district on Saturday. However, the forest department team caught the python and released it into the forest.

The python entered the house of Kittugalla Ramanamma at SC Colony late on Friday. The family members noticed the python was inactive after consuming cocks in surrounding habitation. The family members of Ramanamma alerted the people in the colony. The snake was not in a position to react even when a large number of people gathered and tried to send it away from the home.

Later, they informed the forest officials. Siddavatam ranger officer Kalavati, DRDO Obulesu and staff reached the spot and caught the python with help of a snake catcher and left it in the forest. Sources said this was the first time
that a 7-metre long python was noticed in the Siddavatam forest range.
