Grief-stricken mother of martyred CRPF jawan dies 8 days after son's death

BHUBANESWAR: The mother of martyred CRPF jawan, Sushant Khuntia from Anandapur in Odisha’s Keonjhar district died on Friday evening, just eight days after her son’s death.

As per reports, Sushant’s mother, Sundari Khuntia was depressed after his son’s death. She suddenly fell ill following which she was admitted to Anandapur hospital for treatment.

After her health deteriorated further, she was later shifted to SCB hospital in Cuttack, where she breathed her last.

Earlier on Saturday, the body of martyred Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan, Sushant Khuntia was consigned to flames at his ancestral town in Anandapur of Keonjhar.

As per reports, the CRPF team had an encounter with naxals in Jharkhand on Friday. The Naxals ambushed the jawans when they were returning from a combing operation. Constables Sushant Kumar Khuntia and Munna Lal Yadav got injured. While both of them were evacuated, sadly, Khuntia lost his life to bullet injuries.

Sundari Khuntia had already lost her husband and two other sons. And after losing her third son (Sushant), her health deteriorated and she eventually breathed her last.
