Fire Breaks Out at Mattress Making Unit in Mailardevpally, Workers Safe
Hyderabad: Fire broke out at a mattress making unit in Mailardevpally on Sunday morning. Around 15 persons working in the unit at the time of the fire, escaped unhurt in the incident.
Two fire tenders from Rajendranagar and Chandulal Baradari rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control. However, the raw material stored in the place and the structure was gutted in the fire.
Station Fire Officer Rajendranagar V Chandra Naik said Bathool traders was owned by Imran, who was running the place, for the past few months in a rented place at Mailardevpally.
On Sunday around 5.30am when the workers began work, they noticed sparks inside the unit and raised an alarm.The spark turned into a fire and spread all over the place.
Meanwhile, workers ran out of the unit safely. Inquiries revealed that the unit had no permissions. Though they had fire extinguishers in place, they could be of no use as they were stored inside the unit. They were also damaged in the fire.
