VS Achuthanandan writes to CM Pinarayi Vijayan to reinstate Susheela Bhat

The senior government pleader had fought a slew of cases connected with encroachment of government land by plantation companies.

Thiruvananthapuram: Veteran CPM leader V S Achuthanandan on Tuesday shot off a letter to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan asking him to reconsider the decision to remove Susheela Bhat, senior Government Pleader (Revenue). In the letter he pointed out that removal of Bhat would result in major setback to revenue cases which were handled by her.

The senior government pleader had fought a slew of cases connected with encroachment of government land by plantation companies. She had told reporters that the decision to remove her was unfair since various cases of encroachment of government land by private companies were at crucial stages. In a large number of cases she could convince the court to a large extent that the encroached and belonged to the government.
