The new 100-metre shelter at Pazhavangadi which will be inaugurated next month has embedded lighting among other aesthetic ingredients.
“The public announcement system that conforms to international standards has been installed. Also, a glass cabin has been used to cover KSRTC office which will act as a tourist and travel facilitation centre. Well-cut designer rock tiles are used for flooring to ensure durability,” revenue officials said. The roof height has been raised to around 15 feet to make it airier and it provides good visual of vehicles for those awaiting bus. On Tuesday, the works were entering the last phase with the last blue and white false sealing being sealed.
An estimated Rs 1 crore has been spent on the bus stand with a huge amount from the local MLAs fund.
