70% of Haritha Haram funds looted, alleges TPCC leader Goud

Hyderabad: TPCC working president Mahesh Kumar Goud on Monday alleged that 70 per cent of the money spent on Haritha Haram, the state government’s greenery programme, had been filched. The Congress on coming to power would institute an inquiry, he said.

“Where have the Rs 11,000 crore spent on Haritha Haram gone? Where are the plants that were planted? Seventy per cent of the amount allocated to the programme has been swindled,” Goud alleged and said, “There is a huge difference between what is claimed and the reality.”

He said that the government is celebrating the 10th anniversary of statehood, though in reality 10 years had not been completed. “Money from the public exchequer is being wasted in the name of these celebrations,” Goud said.

“The exploitation is spread into water, sand, trees, projects and liquor. We will order a probe into Haritha Haram once we come to power,” he said and added there is corruption in the construction of the Secretariat and the Martyrs Memorial also.
