Hyderabad: ‘Brave’ Nift staff to get their jobs back

The fight continued, but a few days ago the company turned against 56 employees who were eventually asked to leave.

Hyderabad: Over 56 housekeeping staff working at NIFT, Madhapur, are likely to get their jobs back, following their relentless fight against sexual harassment.

Last October, a house- keeping staffer at NIFT accused an employee, identified as D. Srinivas Reddy, of sexual harassment. Following which a formal complaint was filed and a case was registered.

The fight continued, but a few days ago the company turned against 56 employees who were eventually asked to leave.

However, on Wednesday the maintenance agency agreed to take them back.

The staffers knocked the doors of labour commission, who in return assured them that their jobs will be safe and can go back to work.

The staffers have accused Mr Reddy of touching the women staff inappropriately, clicking their photographs without consent, and passing indecent comments.
