Lover' moves Kerala High Court in bobbitisation case
Kochi: In a new twist in the bobbitisation case, Ayyappadas, Thrikkannamangalam, Kottarakkara, who has claimed to be the lover of the girl involved in the case, has filed a habeas corpus petition before the Kerala High Court seeking a directive to Thiruvananthapuram police to produce her before the court. Ayyappadas alleged that the girl had been illegally detained by Sangh Parivar activists. Ayyappadas submitted that he was managing the affairs of a hotel at Kolencherry owned by Ganeshananda Theerthapada Swami. Ayyappadas argued that the girl gashed Ganeshananda’s genitals with a knife, when he attempted to commit rape.
Petta police registered a case against the accused for the offence under Section 376 (rape) and Sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO). In this plea he said that while the investigation was progressing, a criminal conspiracy was hatched between certain activists of the Sangh Parivar assisted by a lawyer who appeared for Ganeshananda in the case. As a result of the conspiracy, the victim was taken forcibly from their house and she was illegally confined at Nattarachira, Nedumangad. She was also forced to write a letter to Ganeshananda’s counsel denying her earlier version against the accused. Though a complaint was filed before the police seeking to redeem her from the illegal detention, no action had been taken. The petitioner also alleged that there was a move to make him a scapegoat so as to protect Ganeshananda from the prosecution.
