Chalachitra Academy moves Kerala High Court on four films

The March March March' is based on the JNU protest.

Kochi: The Kerala State Chalachitra Academy has moved the Kerala High Court seeking permission to show four documentaries in the international documentary festival being held in Thiruvananthapuram. The academy sought permission to show the films ‘March March March ,’ ‘In the Shadow of Fallen Chinnar,’ and two others. The ‘March March March’ is based on the JNU protest while ‘In the Shadow of Chinnar’ is based on the Kashmir issue.

The Central Information and Broadcasting Ministry had rejected permission to show these documentaries. The academy had earlier filed an appeal before the central government but in vain. The directors of the films also had approached the court but the pleas were dismissed as an appeal filed by the academy was pending before the union ministry. The academy has now moved the court after the union ministry dismissed the appeal.
