Tirupati: The nine-day annual Brahmotsavams in Lord Govindaraja Swamy temple concluded on a grand note with Chakrasnanam on Sunday morning in Tirupati.
The anthropomorphic form of Lord, Sudarshana Chakrattalwar along with the processional deities of Lord Govindaraja Swamy, Sridevi and Bhudevi were brought to Kapilateertham, where the celestial Snapana Tirumanjanam was performed. The event took place between 6 am and 11 am.
After the completion of the rituals, the Chakrattalwar was dipped in the holy waters of the Kapilateertham by the priests marking the grand conclusion of annual Brahmotsavams.
Meanwhile, in the evening Lord Govindaraja Swamy was taken out in a procession atop Bangaru Tiruchi around the four mada streets encircling the temple.
After the procession, the priests performed Dwajarohanam, marking the conclusion of nine-day annual
Brahmotsavams at this temple. Temple special grade deputy executive officer Varalakshmi, TTD officials and large number of devotees were also present.
Unprecedented rush at Tirumala

An unprecedented crowd of devotees was witnessed in Tirumala on Saturday with queues going as far as Asthana Mandapam and it also continued till Sunday evening.
Tirumala In-charge JEO B. Lakshmikantham inspected the Sarva Darshanam complex and line movement inside the temple on Sunday.
Speaking on this occasion, he said, “Every inch of Tirumala is occupied with pilgrims. All the departments are taking extra care to offer the best possible services to the pilgrims. On Sunday we are expecting that the darshan figure to cross the one lakh mark,” he added.
Last night over 93,000 pilgrims had darshan of the Lord while the tonsuring figures crossed 51,000. From May 11 till May 18 almost 7 lakh pilgrims had darshan of the Lord. “We are keeping a special focus on food, milk, beverages, water distribution, sanitation and medical facilities to the pilgrims at this time,” the JEO said.
Over 3000 sevakulu are rendering service at all the vital points round the clock in the outside queues and VQC compartments and there are scouts inside the temple. The pilgrim welfare facilitation service volunteers have been deployed in all compartments to meet the grievances of the pilgrims if any and settle the issues informing the concerned departments without delay,” he maintained.
Later, the JEO also held a review meeting on the disposal of solid waste in Tirumala. the JEO directed the engineering officials to find methods for the speedy disposal of solid waste.
On any given day, Tirumala generates nearly 90 MT of non-hazardous solid waste which includes 30-40 MT of wet waste consisting of food and other bio-degradable waste and the remaining dry waste includes paper, plastic, wood and iron waste.
