Anam Ramanarayana Reddy rebukes TD functioning

Joined the party to serve people for 5 yrs: Ramnarayana.

Nellore: To the surprise and shock of TD leaders including minister P. Narayana, former finance minister and TD in-charge for Atmakur Assembly segment, Anam Ramanarayana Reddy came down heavily against the style of functioning of TD during Mini Mahanadu held at Atmakur late on Friday night.

Urban Development minister P. Narayana and former minister Adala Prabhakar Reddy were mute spectators to the outburst of Anam.

Reminding that he is from a political family and into politics since last 35 years, he said he had never faced so many insults in his political career while pointing to incidents where officials simply ignored his efforts to rescue party men in trouble.

He said they always stood behind the party cadres whether they were in ruling party or opposition but he is facing a peculiar situation though he is in ruling Telugu Desam.

“We could not help when a senior party leader in Atmakur was jailed and also when criminal cases were filed against 23 farmers belonging to the party for alleged misuse of funds pertaining to NREGS without serving notice or asking for explanation. Police officers as well officials of other departments ignored our pleas to examine the issues before arresting them,” Ramanarayana Reddy alleged.

He said TD party functionaries had sought explanation from him when he supported a senior party leader at Atmakur when police detained him while questioning the rational behind the move.

He said they were punished in 2014 elections because of the decision of Congress to divide the state and certain moves of TD will have similar impact on the party chances in future.

Interestingly the TD cadres and leaders cheered Ramanarayana Reddy subscribing to his outburst every time when he touched the subjects affecting them.

He indirectly criticised the agriculture minister Somireddy Chandra-mohan Reddy while maintaining that farming community is unhappy though the agriculture minister is from the district because of confusion in sops announced for paddy growers.

Pointing to his position as party in-charge, he sarcastically said their batteries are drained and not getting charged.

Referring to the presence of minister Narayana in the programme, he said he does not know whether he can speak out like this but he is forced to come out because it is the anguish of all the party men in Atmakur.

Ramanarayana Reddy said he would have taken all these issues to the notice of minister Narayana or the Chief Minister if it is his personal but that was not the issue.

He claimed that he joined the ruling party hoping to serve the people for five years and he is not after any position.

He advised Narayana to inform the CM about the mood of the people and take steps to boost their confidence levels.
