HMRL MD gets engineering award

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) managing director N.V.S. Reddy was awarded the Kinnera Sri Shobhakrut Ugadi Award on Sunday for his outstanding contribution to the field of engineering.

Telangana Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy awarded N.V.S. Reddy the prize at a function at the Ravindra Bharathi auditorium. The award is in memory of Bhavaraju Satyanarayana, a decorated engineer who was awarded the Rao Saheb title during British rule.

Telangana government advisor (cultural affairs) Dr K.V. Ramanachary presided over the function.

Extolling the contribution made by Reddy in building the world's largest metro rail project in Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode, the jury said that the Hyderabad Metro Rail project reflects his engineering skills and financial innovation.
