Hyderabad: Following strict instructions from the government on issuing No Objection Certificates (NoC) to properties in order to protect government lands from encroachers, and implementation of the same from the ground level to the collector, some fraudsters have begun creating fabricated NoCs by forging the signatures of the collector and joint collectors.
Police registered cases against one P. Rukkamma and some others from Seethaphal-mandi in the city for preparing forged letters (N2/1092/2016 and N2/1013/2016) stating that the Collector, Mr Rahul Bojja, had issued clearance to two properties at Namalagundu, in Musheerabad mandal.
In another case, police registered a case against one D. Hyma Chowdary who created a fabricated NoC by forging the Joint Collector’s signature on a document giving clearance to 1,000 square yards of evacuee property at Shaikpet.
Both the incidents came to light when the concerned tahsildars verified the NOCs submitted to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. Hyderabad district joint collector M. Prashanti said that both the cases were being investigated.
“In the first case, Chilkalguda police registered a case and is investigating the matter. The second case is being checked,” she said.
She said that people who are planning to purchase or sell properties should approach the tahsildar or sub-registrar offices and check out the facts about the properties before buying them.
“The public should be cautioned on this. Revenue authorities must take stringent action against miscreants who cheat and extort money from the public,” M. Prashanti said that both the cases we said.
