Kerala High Court orders protection for law academy college
A division bench passed the order after principal of the Law Academy moved court seeking police protection.

Kochi: Kerala High Court on Thursday directed the police to grant protection to the life of principal, teaching and non-teaching staff and students of the Kerala Law Academy Law College and for its property. A division bench passed the order after principal of the Law Academy moved court seeking police protection. “The police shall ensure that ingress and egress to the college and its campus are not obstructed in any manner,” the court held. It issued notice to the state government and posted the hearing of the case to January 27.
The petitioner submitted that students organisations such as SFI, KSU, ABVP, AISF and MSF started attacking the college properties without provocation. The functioning of the college has come to a standstill from January 12 . The activists using separate keys locked down the classrooms, library, teaching faculty rooms, ladies hostel and administrative office. The inaction of the police has led to encourage the activists to vandalise the property, it said.
