WARANGAL: Chief Justice of India N.V. Ramana visited Ramappa temple at Palampet village near Mulugu on Saturday. He offered special prayers to Lord Shiva in Ramalingeswara Swamy Temple.
Temple priests gave the Ramana couple a warm welcome with purna kumbam. Officials of the tourism department explained to him the significance of Ramappa temple. The CJI appreciated the various sculptures present at the temple.
Speaking on the occasion, Ramana said it is a matter of pride for all Telugu people that Ramappa Temple, constructed 800 years ago, has been recognised by UNESCO as one of the heritage structures in the world.
High Court Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma, High Court advocates Ujjal Buyan and Rajashekar Reddy, additional judge of district court Anil Kumar, chairman of district legal cell authority Mahesh Nath, junior judge of Mulug Ramchander Rao, vice-president of State Planning Commission B. Vinod Kumar, Mulug MLA Seethakka and district collector Krishna Aditya were among those present.
