Rising Kerala to lure youth to industry

Sessions on all sectors would be held before the beginning of the expo on December 9, he added.

KOZHIKODE: Rising Kerala- 2016, the three-day mega expo scheduled to begin on December 9 focussing on seven industrial sectors aims at empowering budding industrialists with a new vision and technology, inspiring educated youth into the industry and helping the already established industrialists to expand their horizon, say the leading lights of the expo. The three-day affair with more than 400 stalls, seminars, discussion sessions, demonstrations will be on Wood, food, building, plastic, general engineering, information technology, apart from the footwear industry.

Rising Kerala – 2016, the Kerala International Industrial Exhibition, is being organized with the cooperation of the Calicut Management Association, department of industries, Kerala State Small Industries Association, Confederation of Indian Footwear Industries and Footwear design and Development Centre, Kozhikode. Various seminars on each sector are already underway. Rising Kerala organizing committee chairman M Khalid told DC that through these seminars and other sessions, the organisers aimed at an all round positive shift among youth towards industry.

The seminar on Food processing scheduled to be held on Saturday will be on various aspects of food processing while the Lead Summit scheduled for November 26 will see an interaction with the most successful entrepreneurs and industrialists from Kerala. Sessions on all sectors would be held before the beginning of the expo on December 9, he added. Noted industrialist VKC Mammad Koya MLA who is among the key persons, told DC that the expo was gradually expanding. “Beginning a few years ago, focussing alone on the Footwear industry, now we have seven sectors in its ambit. Let us change the industrial climate of Malabar without damaging the ecology”, he said.
