Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau probe against its advisor

Vigilance officials who were present there reported this to the director and on further verification it was found that his act was suspicious.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Vigilance director Jacob Thomas has recommended departmental action against a legal advisor for allegedly favouring former finance minister K. M. Mani in poultry firm tax exemption case. He recommended action against Murali Krishnan, the additional legal advisor of the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau.

He also shifted the probe into the poultry tax scam to Thiruvananthapuram special investigation unit II from Ernakulam range. Mr Krishnan allegedly took a stand in his favour while a petition alleging that Mr Mani took a bribe of Rs 50 lakh for giving tax exemption came up before the Kottayam vigilance court. Vigilance officials who were present there reported this to the director and on further verification it was found that his act was suspicious.
