Mandya farmers protest apex court order
The protestors included members of the Cauvery Hitharakshana Vedike and activists of the Karnataka Janapara Vedike.
Mysuru: Farmers and pro-Kannada activists greeted Tuesday’s order of the Supreme Court asking the state to release 2000 cusecs of Cauvery water every day to Tamil Nadu until further instructions with protests in Mandya.
The protestors included members of the Cauvery Hitharakshana Vedike and activists of the Karnataka Janapara Vedike, who warned that they would wait and watch the developments before deciding on the future course of their agitation.
“We will wait for further orders of the Supreme Court and then decide how to progress,” said Cauvery Hitharakshana Vedike president, G Madegowda.
