Chennai: Union Minister of State for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping Pon Radhakrishnan accused the DMK and Congress parties of staging rail roko agitations on Tuesday in a frantic bid to “cover up their betrayal to the people on the Cauvery issue.”
Lashing out at these parties he said both the Congress that had ruled at the Centre and DMK that was at the helm of affairs in Tamil Nadu had “ruined the state and deceived the people of TN.” “The Congress is a curse to the state. It will have an alliance of convenience. It has no moral right to talk about Cauvery issue as it had not taken any serious steps to re-solve the issue. Its ally, the DMK was responsible for converting agricultural lands for real estate development,” he said.
