OU girl students denied food in hostel
They could get food only after the intervention of officials

HYDERABAD: After protesting all through the night and finally being assured that they would be allowed to stay in the hostel, and be provided food, girl students of Osmania University's centenary block hostel were again denied food on Sunday. They could get food only after the intervention of officials.
The students had protested by sitting on the road in OU campus on Saturday after they were asked to vacate their rooms overnight.
Following their protest, university officials agreed to let them stay in the hostel. However, on Sunday morning, they were told by mess workers that they had not prepared any food for the hostellers.
On informing the same to the hostel warden, extra food was prepared for them on the warden's instructions. The issue cropped up at lunch and many had to fend for themselves. The students will meet the registrar on Monday with their grievances.
