Blue Whale took no life in Kerala, asserts DGP Lokanath Behera

Abraham said that the device of the alleged victim of the game was subjected to forensic exams but nothing was found.

Kochi: Even as a youth based in Thodupuzha was booked for allegedly publicizing the Blue Whale challenge game, the top brass of the Kerala Police on Friday maintained there was no evidence so far of people from the state playing the online game. “In fact the Blue Whale challenge is not a game but stupid instructions given by some system administrator, also named as tutor. Our probe revealed that no one has committed suicide by playing the online game,” DGP Loknath Behra said in his presidential address at the inauguration of c0c0n X, two-day hacking and cyber security briefing.

When asked about the claim of a parent that her son committed suicide after playing the game, Manoj Abraham, Inspector General of Police and nodal officer of Cyberdome, said the police couldn’t come across even a single administrator. “We are searching for the tutor in cyber space with the help of cyberdome for the last 20 days or so but could not came across one. Nothing could be released in cyber space targeting children alone as any such content would be accessible to everyone,” he said. Abraham said that the device of the alleged victim of the game was subjected to forensic exams but nothing was found.
