Thoothukudi student wins Young Scientist award

A Thoothukudi student, Sa. Siva Surya, emerged as a winner of the title among the 586 projects sent from all over the country.

Chennai: In order to create a platform for student innovations, Space Kids India collaborated with Abdul Kalam International Foundation to organize a competition called Young Scientist India – 2016 on Monday.

Never miss an opportunity as it can create history.” “Innovate along the lines where we have not made headway,” he advised students.

Director of Space Kids India Dr Shrimathi Kesan asked parents to constantly encourage their children towards scientific entrepreneurship. “We have not had a sailable innovation since 60 years. Our nation is full of talented brains, but it is going towards west. Our main aim is to retain them and encourage discoveries among children,” she told DC.

Parthiv Khaund from New Delhi and M. Jeya Kumar from Virudhunagar bagged second and third prizes. Chennai lad, Thirumurugan’s robotic project was selected among the top 15 best projects.
