The 20-year-old topper told DC that he does not have any fixed plans for the future.

Chennai: S. Sri Ram from Salem in Tamil Nadu topped the CA final exams with 613 marks out of 800 on his first attempt. The results of final exams conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) were released on Monday. The exams were conducted in May.

The 20-year-old topper told DC that he does not have any fixed plans for the future. “I will get my certificate in two, three months and will plan my future after that.”

He attended coaching classes for four months in Prime Academy in Chennai. “I studied daily two hours for two years. That has earned me success in this exam,” he said.

He has secured seventh place in group I exam in all India level. His father, K.V. Srinivasan, was an employee of Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation. His mother R. Padma is currently working as district library officer. Sri Ram has scored 455 out of 500 in his CBSE class 12 exams.

The final exams contain two groups and a person becomes a chartered accountant if he or she clears both the groups. ICAI holds the exams twice a year.

Out of 37,194 candidates applied for the group I exam 5,382 have cleared. In group II exam 36,906 students appeared and 7,864 students cleared the exam. 4,564 students have cleared both the groups this year. Last December, James John Britto from Chennai topped the exams. He scored 595 out of 800 marks.
