AP meets highest 263 MUs energy demand

VIJAYAWADA: Chief secretary Dr. K.S. Jawahar Reddy said AP’s power utilities have met the energy demand of 263 million units (MUs) in the state on June 17, 2023, which is the highest energy demand so far.

Reviewing a high-level meeting on Sunday, he said the state government is fully committed to implementing energy efficiency programmes with utmost dedication. This will contribute to the primary objective of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to continue ensuring 24x7 reliable and quality power supply, particularly to industries and the domestic sector.

Dr. Jawahar Reddy said the Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture of public sector undertakings under the Ministry of Power, is keen on supporting Andhra Pradesh in enhancing energy efficiency in the state’s micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). EESL is also exploring the possibility of bringing global technologies into the MSME sector in AP as well as other states.

EESL chief executive officer Vishal Kapoor said the organisation is unwavering in its support to bring in energy efficiency in Andhra Pradesh. He appreciated AP government for effectively implementing energy efficiency programs and promoting renewable energy generation in the state.
