Kadapa: Land re-survey will be conducted in 322 villages in Kadapa district in the first phase. The state government last year launched the YSR Jagananna Bhu Hakku-Bhu Raksha scheme to provide a permanent solution to all land-related disputes and issues.

Recently, it was decided to spend the funds of the National Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) and take up works in the areas where boundary stones will be laid.

There are 981 revenue villages in rural and urban areas across the district. These have 5,36,857 survey numbers. Various types of lands are spread over 31,21,145.62 acres with the respective survey numbers. However, in the first phase, it was decided to re-survey 6,11,863.53 acres under survey number 1,16,656 in 322 revenue villages.

The survey work was launched in S. Ramapuram in Pendlimarri mandal in Kadapa division, U.Chalivendula of Pullampeta mandal in Rajampeta division and Ragimakupalle of Pulivendula mandal of Jammalamadugu division.

The work will be jointly supervised by mandal, secretariat surveyors, field technical assistants and APOs. Officials told them to estimate the cost for laying boundary stones and mention them on the NREGS website.

District Water Management Authority (DWMA) project director Pandillapalli Yadubhushan Reddy told Deccan Chronicle that funding would be provided as per government norms to undertake works as soon as proposals are received from the councils. He said all the work would be carried out in a highly transparent manner.
