Kasargod: Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala got trapped inside a lift for nearly half an hour in Kasargod on Saturday following power failure. Mr Chennithala was on his way to attend a reception accorded by the Kasargod district Congress committee and got stuck in the lift of the district cooperative bank. He was later rescued by the fire force personnel.
He was accompanied by former MLA K.P. Kunhikkannan, DCC secretary C.K. Sreedharan and Mr P.A. Ashrafali. While moving to the reception arranged on the third floor of the bank hall, the lift suddenly stopped after it moved from the second floor. There were no lift operators or other systems in the building. The fire force personnel reached the spot in half an hour and rescued the leaders.
