KARIMNAGAR: Commissioner of Police (CP) L. Subbarayudu said that tough action will be taken against motorists and mechanics who disobey the rules by installing modified silencers that create noise pollution while crushing the vehicle silencers with a road roller in Karimnagar on Thursday.
To reduce accidents within Karimnagar commissionerate's jurisdiction, the top officer counselled the owners of vehicles whose drivers were found to be intoxicated, minors and their parents, those who disregarded traffic rules, and mechanics who repaired silencers that contribute to noise pollution.
Speaking at the event, CP added that in addition to seizing the vehicles, if someone is found driving while intoxicated a second time, criminal charges will be filed against them under the Motor Vehicle Act.
