NEET admit card hits lag
Thiruvananthapuram: With the Supreme Court allowing candidates aged above 25 to apply for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) until April 5, the issuing of admit cards of NEET has got delayed. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is holding the test for admissions to MBBS and BDS courses in medical and dental colleges. The CBSE plan was to issue the admit card on April 15, which will now be on April 22. As per schedule, CBSE will conduct NEET-UG 2017 on May 7 in 104 centres across the country. As per the apex court order, candidates who are above 25 are eligible to appear for single entrance exam.
MCI decision earlier was to fix 25 years as the upper age for NEET. The commissioner for entrance examinations (CEE) will prepare the rank list for the state based on the NEET score. The CEE had earlier decided that there will be no state-level entrance exam for medical and allied courses other than MBBS and BDS and admissions to these courses will also be from NEET. There are five centres for NEET in the state - Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Kozhikode, Thrissur and Kannur.
