Chennai: The city police are conducting enquiries on a man who trespassed into Chepauk cricket pitch on Sunday while IPL practice session of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) was underway.
Police said, he did it to meet cricketer MS Dhoni and the incident created tension in the stadium premises. Taking it as a security lapse, police are enquiring about the ‘fan’ identified as S. Aravind Kumar (21), a native of Madurai. He is pursuing an MBA from a private college in Madurai.
Sources said he came to the city by Vaigai Express on Sunday morning to watch the IPL practice session. The training had begun by 6 pm and mid-way Aravind jumped over the barriers and ran towards Dhoni. He was detained and further investigations are on.
